The intestine is also one of the most important organs for supporting the immune system in cats. A balanced and stable intestinal flora is the basis for optimal digestion and therefore important for the general well-being and vitality of your cat.
What happens when a cat's intestinal flora becomes imbalanced?
The flora of the large intestine consists of very different types of bacteria. There are positive, stabilizing bacteria, but also negative bacteria. If the intestinal flora becomes imbalanced and the negative bacteria take over, this can lead to digestive problems and diarrhea.
How can the stability of a cat's intestinal flora be supported?
Our so-called GI2 complex was developed by animal nutrition specialists to stabilize your kitty's intestinal flora. These are yeasts of the Saccaromyces cervisiae strain, also known as "brewer's yeast". This yeast is particularly rich in mannans and glucans.
Mannans serve as a substrate for the bacterial flora in the large intestine and can thus ensure that the positive bacteria multiply. At the same time, negative bacteria are prevented from adhering to the intestinal mucosa under the influence of mannans.
The resulting stable intestinal flora improves the consistency of the faeces. The glucans contained stimulate the production of defense cells and directly strengthen the immune system. The glucans also have a lasting positive effect on the digestive tract.
