Notes on feeding kittens
Can I give my kitten cow's milk to drink?
Growing kittens should not be offered cow's milk under any circumstances, as this can cause dangerous diarrhea, since the activity of the lactose-degrading enzyme (lactase) decreases after the mother's milk is weaned. Your little velvet paw should therefore only be given water to drink after the suckling period.
What is meant by feed gestation time?
The first few weeks are considered to be the kitten's food development period and are crucial in determining what your little cat will consider to be good food in the future. During this time, it makes sense to offer your kitten several flavors (chicken, ostrich, trout, etc.) and not just limit yourself to one type of kitten food. No-gos during the feeding period are, for example, sausage, cheese or other snacks, because otherwise your kitten will very quickly no longer like the taste of the right food. Even adult cats should only be given human food as a reward. You can find out which foods cats should not eat in our guide article.
