In harmony with nature
The protection of our nature, the environment and the animal world is part of our corporate responsibility at bosch Tiernahrung. We attach great importance to sustainability in all areas and would like to take a pioneering role together in order to preserve the asset entrusted to us, our nature, the environment and the animal world, for future generations.
Climate-neutral production
Since January 2020, we have been producing climate-neutrally at our site in Blaufelden-Wiesenbach.
We are convinced that, in addition to the current discussion on alternative, future-oriented and sustainable generation of energy, there is still considerable potential for savings in German industry.
In 2012, we developed an energy management system that commits us to reducing our energy consumption per ton of end product by 1.3% per year.
To further reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, we have taken numerous measures in recent years:
- continuous testing of all processes and products
- high-bay warehouse with automatic storage and retrieval Energy recovery during the braking process of the storage and retrieval machines
- state-of-the-art production facilities with heat recovery
- operation of a combined heat and power plant (use of electrical energy and heat)
- direct purchase of energy from a neighboring biogas plant
- photovoltaic systems on approx. 30,000 sqm of roof space
- automatic lighting control and installation of LED lights
- cooling of the administration building by chimney effect of double walls and cold water plate coolers (instead of air conditioning)
- utilization of the vehicle fleet (full trucks, no empty runs)
- climate-neutral parcel shipping with DHL GOGREEN
- promotion of sustainable mobility of our employees
- purchase of many raw materials directly from local farmers in the region to avoid long delivery routes
For our saving of energy and CO2 we were certified according to the energy management system DIN ISO 50001.
Climate protection project
We offset the unavoidable emissions generated in the production of our pet food through a major climate protection project run by the non-profit organization Primaklima. For this purpose, we work together with the non-profit organization PRIMAKLIMA, which has been committed to the preservation and increase of forests for almost 30 years.
In 2024, we offset CO2 emissions amounting to 23,659 tons with PrimaKlima.
Regional Heimat-Forest
We also want to give something back to our local nature. Very close to our company, we have started reforesting a large forest area.
The young plants were purchased from a regional nursery and lovingly planted by hand in order to soon reach our goal of 10,000 trees planted by our own hands. Our home forest is the habitat of many plant and animal species.
Environmentally friendly packaging
We want to leave the beaten track and have tested and tried out a lot to package our pet food in the most environmentally friendly and resource-saving way possible. Some of our packaging is now completely plastic-free. We use brand new, sustainable types of packaging, such as FSC-certified paper from well-managed forests in combination with a thin protective layer of potatoes.
Ensured sustainability
Our family business has been certified by the German Institute for Sustainability and Economy.
