What is tapioca?
Tapioca is a starch obtained from the roots of the cassava plant. Cassava is a tropical plant that is mainly grown in South America, Africa and Asia. To produce tapioca starch, the cassava roots are ground or grated. The resulting flour is then washed to separate the starch from other components. It is then dried and processed into a fine flour.
Where does our tapioca come from?
Our tapioca contract farming in Togo in the area between Togoville and Sevagan, where tapioca grows in particularly large quantities, primarily supports the poorest people in the country. Tapioca is processed exclusively by local people who do not sell the product through an organization. Traditionally, widows earn their living with this laborious manual work. This type of processing has been a tradition there for decades.

Tapioca in animal nutrition:
Tapioca is extremely high in starch (over 80 %) and is also characterized by its consistently high quality and raw material safety. The easily digestible starch is a first-class source of energy for dogs and therefore a perfect addition to the other, more protein-rich ingredients. Tapioca is natural and gluten-free, making it a perfect ingredient for sensitive dogs.
