With our feeding recommendations, you can easily see how much food your four-legged friend needs per day.
But does it make sense to feed this daily ration all at once or should it be divided into several meals a day?
Does my dog need variety in his diet or is it better to stick to his usual food?

One or several meals a day?

In principle, it is completely sufficient for adult dogs to be fed once a day, as a dog's stomach has a very large food intake capacity. It can be useful to establish a daily routine and always feed your furry friend at a certain time of day.

For sensitive dogs that are prone to indigestion or for furry friends who are under greater stress, the daily amount of food should be divided into two to three meals. Even for older dogs and puppies, the daily ration should be divided into several meals.

Of course, every dog has individual needs and preferences. Observe your pet closely to develop the ideal course of action.

Breaks after feeding

Since your furry friend consumes the entire daily ration at once during a single feeding, your four-legged friend should be able to rest for two to three hours after feeding in order to optimally digest the food.

For performance dogs should the last feeding, if possible, take place at least 6 hours before use to ensure optimal performance. The first meal after an operation should take place 2 - 3 hours later.

Does my furry friend need variety in his diet?

Basically, your furry friend doesn't need any variety in their diet. Dogs tolerate the same food for years. What is crucial, however, is that it is a complete food that contains all the important nutrients, vitamins and minerals and is made from high-quality raw materials.
