The balanced supply of high-quality, animal protein sources is particularly important to us.

Which meat products are used at bosch pet food?

To produce our different recipes, we use a variety of high-quality animal protein sources that naturally contain vitamins, trace elements and minerals. This means your furry friend is provided with everything they need for a healthy and vital life.

When selecting our meat sources, we attach particular importance to origin, variety and freshness. We always use existing resources carefully and with sustainability in mind. The careful processing of the raw materials entrusted to us has the highest priority and reflects our high-quality standards.

We use the following types of meat to produce our products: Organic chicken, Simmental country beef, water buffalo, lamb, goat, country pig, roe deer, wild boar, reindeer, poultry, chicken, goose, duck, ostrich, turkey, quail, pheasant, guinea fowl, fish, wild herring, trout, salmon, MSC white fish. We process the fresh meat directly in our company either chilled or frozen. In addition to fresh meat, we use dried meat products from all commonly consumed animal species in Germany. The dried meat meal is gently heated and dried in the manufacturing plants in accordance with the strict German and European regulations. We also process organic meat and meat with the Animal Welfare Initiative seal.

The raw materials have been released and slaughtered for human consumption. We therefore do not process any products from animal carcass disposal facilities, so-called carcass meal or slaughterhouse waste that are not suitable for consumption (such as horns, claws, claws).

Our tip

In our online shop you can filter the food according to your desired types of meat so that you only see the products that contain your four-legged friend's preferred animal protein source.

How high should the meat content be in dog food?

Even if this is repeatedly claimed, the meat content of a food is ultimately not a criterion for assessing quality. There is no percentage value that determines how high the meat content should be in dog food.

The meat content always depends on the overall recipe and the protein content of the remaining components. The respective feed must be balanced, well coordinated and nutritionally sensible. The food should have a higher protein content and the protein in dog and cat food comes predominantly from meat. However, there are significant differences between the meat of different animal species. Other animal protein sources (e.g. whole egg, milk powder, fish and fishmeal, etc.) also make an excellent contribution to supplying the animals with amino acids.

For all of our products, we indicate the animal origin of the meat we use and the proportion of animal protein in the total protein content.
