Careful, paws off, because the inside of a car can heat up to 70° Celsius on hot summer days!

We are taking advantage of the warm summer temperatures to remind you not to leave your four-legged friend alone in the car in this heat under any circumstances! Even if it's only for a brief moment.

Why is it dangerous to leave dogs in the car in hot weather?

The heat build-up in summer is enormous and it doesn't take long for the temperature inside the vehicle to reach sauna-like levels - in the worst case scenario, this can be a death trap for your dog. The underestimated temperature in the car can have serious consequences for your four-legged friend even on cooler spring or fall days. Even slightly open windows or a parking space in the shade are not sufficient protection.

Dogs only have a few sweat glands and regulate their body temperature mainly by panting. The saliva and the fluid on their mucous membranes evaporate and thus lower the body temperature. If the temperatures in the car are too high, the regulatory mechanisms fail and the dog is in mortal danger.

How can I help if a dog is locked in a car?

If you see a pelt-nose waiting in the car on a hot day, please don't go any further, but help! Often every minute counts for the suffering four-legged friend. Look for the owner of the car. In parking lots at stores, you may be able to have the owner called out over a loudspeaker system.

If you cannot find the dog's parents, inform the police (110) or fire department (112).

Draw others' attention to the topic

If the owner returns in time, inform him of the danger to his furry friend in the car.
The more people know about the danger of heat in the car, the more suffering will be spared for all fur friends.
