The amount of feed required depends on various factors. In addition to the age, size and weight of your furry friend, the type of food is particularly important.

Depending on their composition and the manufacturing process used, feedstuffs have very different specific weights and volumes. For example, dry food has much of its moisture removed during the manufacturing process, which means it has a very small volume with a high nutrient density and the meals look very small in comparison.

Where can I find feeding recommendations?

With the help of our feeding recommendations, you can see at a glance how much food your pet needs. You can find these either on the back of the respective packaging or on our website next to the respective products. The amounts of food given in the feeding tables are guideline values that should be exceeded or exceeded in individual cases, depending on the housing conditions and the disposition of your animal.

Repeatedly feel your pet's ribs with your fingertips. You should have the feeling that there is still a thin layer between the skin and the ribs, then your animal's constitution is correct. If you have the feeling that your furry friend's skin is lying almost directly on his ribs and it looks very thin and bony, you should definitely adjust the amount of food.

How do I read the feeding recommendations for junior food correctly?

An optimal supply of all important nutrients is particularly important for young furry friends, as this is the only way they can develop optimally. For young dogs, oversupply is often a bigger problem than undersupply. For example, many pet parents forget to include treats and rewards in the daily food ration.

In order to prevent obesity in young dogs, our feeding recommendations are always based on the expected final weight of the adult dog. This is often easy with purebred dogs. But the expected final weight can also be calculated for mixed breeds or dogs from animal shelters abroad. There are different growth curves for this. The vet can often easily give a good assessment here.
