Antioxidants play an important role in the shelf life of vitamins and essential fatty acids in feed.

Are antioxidants added during the production of our pet food?

Yes, because antioxidants play an important role in the shelf life of vitamins and essential fatty acids in the feed.

Food for dogs and cats contains certain fats, essential fatty acids and vitamins. During storage, these food components are exposed to oxygen in the air, which breaks them down over time. This oxidizing effect is intensified by heat and light. If a dog or cat food contains too few essential fatty acids, this can lead to serious health problems such as growth disorders, rough and dry coat, skin thickening, hair loss and increased susceptibility to skin infections. If the vitamins are also destroyed, typical vitamin deficiency symptoms can also occur. If the fat becomes rancid, harmful breakdown products are formed. As the name suggests, antioxidants counteract this process and the oxidation of nutrients is significantly delayed.

Antioxidants are therefore an important and absolutely essential group of active ingredients, especially if longer shelf lives of vitamins and essential fatty acids are to be guaranteed.

Does bosch add synthetic, artificial colorants in the production of pet food?

No. The differences in color of the products are caused by the different coloring of the raw materials, vitamins and trace elements contained.
This is why the color differences are only slightly pronounced compared to feed that is enriched with synthetic colorants.

Imortant note: artificial colorants must be indicated on the packaging!

Does bosch use soy in the production of pet food?

No, we do not use soy proteins or soy oils. Although soy proteins are very inexpensive, they still contain a number of difficult-to-digest carbohydrates even after sufficient heating, which can lead to soft stools and flatulence. In addition, the majority of soy cultivation worldwide is now carried out with genetically modified seeds.
