Many animals suffer because of our consumption and our way of life. Unfortunately, many cosmetic and pet food products are subjected to painful testing on animals before they are put on the market.

How can I find out which companies make their products cruelty-free?

At tiernahrung.peta.de/#liste you can quickly and easily see which companies produce their products cruelty-free. The PETA logo on packaging is also an indication that you are not supporting animal suffering with your purchase.

Are bosch pet food products manufactured without animal testing?

We at bosch pet food are proud dog and cat parents and want all animals to do well. Consequently, we are absolutely against animal testing. Modern nutritional science allows us to rely on sufficiently scientifically researched and recognized principles when developing new types of food. We strictly reject carrying out animal experiments that would lead to serious health interventions on the animals or that would cause pain and suffering. We are of the opinion that many animal experiments and the associated suffering and pain for the animals are in many cases not at all justifiable in relation to the findings and consequences for the purpose of which such experiments are often carried out.

Of course, we always have to subject our products to an “evaluation” by the animals in order to be able to better assess, for example, the influence of new raw materials, new manufacturing processes, etc. on the quality of our products. Dogs and cats are living creatures whose reactions cannot be easily predicted in advance, as is the case with machines. The acceptance tests that may be provided as part of product development only serve to check the acceptance and digestibility of the feed. In addition to the feeding behavior, the stool consistency, the coat quality and, if necessary, the general development and condition of the animals are visually assessed by the animal owners. The acceptance tests are carried out either in private households or in suitable kennels and - as mentioned - generally by the owners of the animals themselves. Since the pet owner himself has a great interest in sparing his animal any “inconvenience”, the acceptance tests we carry out certainly have nothing in common with the “animal experiments” mentioned.
